In the wake of Covid-19 United States has also bans travellers fron India to arrive in the country starting from May 04, 2021.

As per latest reports, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has advised, due to the difficult condition in India. The spread of COVID-19 has led to India becoming the most dangerously affected country at the moment, with thousands of deaths every day.

According to CDC, the Indian variant of the virus has characteristics of concern, and is quite easily transmitted. Moreover, it has been also noted that it may reduce the potential of some vaccines.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in her statement, "On the advice of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention, the US administration will restrict travel from India, the policy will be implemented in light of extraordinarily high Covid-19 caseloads and multiple variants circulating in India"

The ban on travel from India wouldn’t apply to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or their families.

Earlier in this week the US issued a level 4 travel advisory and ask its citizens to leave India as soon as possible and also advised them to avoid travelling to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the Maldives due to the hike in COVID-19 cases in the regions.

India today recorded over 4 lakh fresh COVID cases in a new record, breaking its own previous counts, and topping the number of daily cases globally.
