All flights to Pune Lohegaon airport were cancelled due to resurfacing of runway and the airport will remain closed for two weeks from 16 October to 29 October.

Indian Air Force will undertake the reconstruction of the runway.

There will be no flight operations at Pune airport from 16 October 2021 to 29 October 2021. Flight operations will resume on 30 October 2021 at 08:00 AM when the work is completed by the Indian Air Force.

Indian Air Force said in a statement, "A 14-day complete closure was planned from April 26 till May 9, 2021, to undertake the resurfacing of the central bitumen portion of the runway. However, due to emergent requirement of transport of COVID-19 vaccines, The Ministry of Defense had directed to defer the complete closure of the runway."

IAF further added, "As per the present plan, the flight operations would resume from October 30, 2021, before Diwali festival,"

Meanwhile, the IAF also said that it will ensure that the transport of the Covishield vaccine is not disrupted during the 14-day closure of the runway of the Pune International Airport.

Lastly, Travoinfo advises all travelers traveling to Pune to reschedule their flight bookings and also reach out to the carrier's customer care for further assistance before packing their bags.
