Eight tourists were killed while two others were injured in a horrific landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur region. The incident took place along the Sangla-Chitkul link road, which is located near Basti.

The tourists who died are from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The injured tourists are from Delhi and Mohali, while another injured person is said to be from Kinnaur.

The landslide caused massive boulders to fall on a tempo passengers causing deaths, and injuries. Unfortunately, the landslide also destroyed the bridge connecting Batseri with the rest of Kinnaur. At the same time, the road connecting Sangla-Chitkul with the rest of Himachal Pradesh has now been blocked.

The unfortunate incident took place around 1 pm, and the incident took place on the side of Link Road where the bridge is damaged.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur expressed grief and tweeted, "It is very sad that a vehicle carrying tourists came under its grip, in which nine died and two injured and one passerby got injured. May God grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family."
