In order to enforce covid-appropriate behavior and avoid the issue of overcrowding, Shimla authorities have now responded by taking strict action. It has been decided that now only senior citizens will be allowed to sit at popular places like ridge and footpath along the Mall Road.

There have been cases of overcrowding of tourists at tourist places, while many were not even wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

As India continues to record a decline in coronavirus cases, several states have also announced relaxation in travel rules related to covid-19. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh has also announced that there is no need to conduct RT-PCR test to enter the state.

The benches that have been put up at these places will be removed, while only the remaining people will be allowed to use them. As per reports, the number of people visiting these places will also be restricted to ensure that the novel coonavirus protocols are being followed.

Shimla DC Aditya Negi issued an order saying that police would be deployed at the entry points of Mall Road and Ridge to control the crowd.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also warned against a third wave of covid-19 after pictures of masked mobs went viral on social media.
