Ladakh has become the first place to have 100% of its population vaccinated with at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

Not only this, reports also state that the UT has also vaccinated the entire 'guest population', which includes hotel workers, migrant laborers and Nepalese citizens working in the area.

Here, 89404 eligible people have been given their first dose of vaccine while 60936 people have been given their second dose. The Ladakh government also vaccinated 6821 Nepalese citizens living and earning there.

The best part is that Ladakh achieved this in a span of just three months ! The administration is giving priority to hotel workers and public transport drivers as they are considered frontline workers in the tourism industry. Along with this, priority was also given to laborers coming from outside.

Authority in Ladakh said that they had a surplus of vaccines for COVID-19 so instead of wasting it, they started vaccinating people in the age group of 18-44 which helped them reach the 100 percent level.
