United Kingdom, Spain and United Arab Emirates have relaxed their international travel rules for Indians and people travelling from India.

These exemptions do not mean that every Indian can fly to these destinations, some Indians will be allowed to travel.

United Kingdom has moved India from the 'Red' to the 'Amber' list, which means that fully vaccinated Indians will not have to self-isolate for 10 days. But before travelling to the UK, vaccinated individuals must also be tested, three days before the scheduled travel date and again 2 days or so after arriving at the destination.

Now, Covaxin and Covishield are not recognized by the UK government. So how does moving India from red to amber list help ? Unvaccinated Indians will have to quarantine for 10 days. They will have to be tested for coronavirus on or before the second day and then on or after the eighth day.

India was on the UK Red List, according to which no Indian was allowed to go directly from India to the UK. Now, Indians are allowed in the UK, but Indians cannot get an exemption for vaccinated individuals as the UK does not recognize Covaxin, Covishield and Sputnik V.

Spain has opened doors for fully vaccinated Indians. Covishield is a recognized vaccine in Spain. The new advisory states that Indian travellers should have a Schengen visa or apply for a Spanish visa. Only Delhi center has been opened to process visa applications.

United Arab Emirates has allowed people to fly from India, but they have to come in specific categories, which are identified by the UAE authorities. UAE residents, students, professionals working for UAE government agencies are allowed to return to UAE from India.

Transit passengers with negative RT-PCR report are also allowed to travel from India. In the wake of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in India, the UAE has suspended all flights from India. It also did not allow UAE residents stranded in India to return, as only diplomats were allowed to fly.
