Meanwhile, the government of the United Kingdom has also informed that they will add India-made Covaxin to the list of approved vaccines. Therefore, travelers who have been vaccinated against Covaxin can enter the country without a quarantine mandate. The new rule will come into effect from November 22.
Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya says, "At present, 96 countries have agreed to mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and also those who recognise Indian vaccination certificates of travellers fully vaccinated with COVISHIELD/WHO approved/nationally approved vaccines. Consecutively, persons travelling from these countries are provided certain relaxations as enunciated in Union Health Ministry’s Guidelines on International Arrivals…"
The central government will continue to engage with the world to acknowledge the beneficiaries of the world's largest COVID vaccination program which will ultimately help in ease of travel and tourism.
All countries big and small in the world have approved India's vaccination certificate including USA, Bangladesh, Mali, Canada, Ghana, Nigeria, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Switzerland, Austria has given. Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kyrgyz Republic, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Tunisia and Australia, among others.
"Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the Ministry of External Affairs is in continuous communication with all countries for mutual recognition of vaccine certificates to facilitate hassle-free international travel across countries" health ministry further added.
