Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that it would allow direct entry to travelers from six countries, India, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia Pakistan, and Vietnam, without spending a 14-day quarantine in a third country.

The new instruction will come into effect from 1:00 AM on Wednesday, December 01, 2021.

However, for those coming from these countries, the institutional quarantine procedures will be enforced for 5 days, regardless of their vaccination status outside the state, continuing in respect of certain categories in this regard. Exceptions should continue to be implemented.

Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said it would continue to apply the previously issued exemptions regarding quarantine for certain categories of passengers.

It is to be noted that earlier this month Saudi Arabia has now recognized and approved the Covishield vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India. Covishield joins the list of eight other approved vaccines including;
  1. Pfizer BioNTech
  2. Comirnaty
  3. Oxford AstraZeneca
  4. SK Bioscience
  5. Vaxzevria
  6. Moderna
  7. Spikevax and
  8. Johnson & Johnson
Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed the importance of following all precautionary measures and preventive protocols taken to contain the spread of coronavirus.
