Abu Dhabi on Tuesday announced updated entry requirements for the emirate in new measures to combat the ongoing Omicron pandemic.

As part of the new directive, COVID-vaccinated individuals wishing to enter the emirate from within the UAE will be required to show a green status on the Al Hosn app.

Meanwhile, those who have not been vaccinated will have to submit negative PCR test results within 96 hours.

The new measures will come into effect from Thursday, December 30, and will be in addition to the current use of EDE scanners for rapid detection of potential Omicron cases.

The decision is in line with efforts to continue with precautionary measures to protect public health and Emirates Govt advises all travellers to follow the protocals striclty like social distancing, use a mask and avoid spitting in public places, violation will punished with fine.

Abu Dhabi is strict at the beginning of the pandemic as they essentially did everything they could to protect the emirate's population from infection.
