Third wave of corona virus is spreading five times faster. There is an explosive situation of infection in seven states of the country. Due to the rapid spread of Omicron, this curiosity arises in the mind whether there will be a lockdown in the country. The R value of seven states of the country is above 3 i.e. corona is sure to be explosive here.

If we look at the earlier two lockdowns in the country, then the situation of Corona in the country is becoming more frightening than before. In such a situation, the question arises whether the country has reached the verge of third lockdown ? Is the government preparing for the third lockdown ? After all, what will be the strategy of the government on this? What is the preparation of the government in dealing with Corona ?

What is the preparation for the third wave ?

Dr. PN Arora, MD of Yashoda Hospital, Ghaziabad, says that at this time the health infrastructure in the country has been strengthened. Health services in the country have strengthened after the first wave of Corona and the second wave. Today, about 18.03 lakh isolation beds are arranged in the country. Apart from this, there are arrangements for 1.24 lakh ICU beds. There are 3,236 oxygen plants in the country. They have a capacity of 3,783 metric tons.

The center has provided 1.14 lakh oxygen concentrates to the state government. 150 crore vaccine doses have been given. In this, 64 percent of the population has received one dose and 46 percent of the population has received two doses of the vaccine.

In such a situation, there is little hope that there will be a situation of strict lockdown in the country. At present, except in some states, the situation is under control. To avoid the lockdown, we have to strictly follow the guidelines and suggestions of the government. Corona protocol will have to be strictly followed.

What is the provision of health facilities in the country after the second lockdown?

The question is that if we follow the formula of the second lockdown of the country, then how likely is it in India. However, this time things are a bit different. Dr. PN Arora says that it is a relief that even though the pace of corona in the country is fast, but the proportion of hospitalization of infected people is much slower than the second wave.

Apart from this, the capacity of health facilities in the country has increased after the second lockdown in the country. Barring a few states, there is no panic as before. However, the situation of corona in Delhi, West Bengal and Maharashtra remains a bit critical. After this, new cases are increasing rapidly in Jharkhand, Bihar, UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana.

Which states imposed restrictions?

Night curfew has been imposed in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Other restrictions have been imposed in MP with 50 percent attendance in schools and colleges. Vaccination has been made mandatory for visiting public places in the state. Schools up to class 8 have been closed in UP.

200 people are allowed in public places and functions. Schools and colleges are closed in Delhi. Work from home has been arranged in government offices. Schools and colleges are open in Gujarat, but vaccination has been made mandatory in public places. All these provisions will help in controlling Omicron.
