India has relaxed international travel norms and issued new guidelines for international travelers arriving in the country with effect from today, February 14, 2022.

International arrival rules have been relaxed for 87 countries including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Maldives, New Zealand, Netherlands, Qatar, Singapore, Switzerland, UK and USA. However, China and the UAE.

Self-declaration Form on Air Suvidha Portal

Passengers arriving in India should furnish complete and factual information, including details of the last 14 days of travel, in a self-declaration form on the Online Air Suvidha Portal prior to the scheduled journey.

Airlines allow boarding only those passengers who have filled all the information in the self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report or COVID-19 vaccination certificate to complete the primary immunization programme.

No Pre-departure RT-PCR Test Required

Now the requirement for a negative RT-PCR test for fully vaccinated travelers from 87 countries has been removed.

However, they will have to upload the Certificate of Completion of the Complete Primary vaccination Program of COVID-19 Vaccination by submitting a self-declaration on the Air Suvidha Portal.

RT-PCR test also Canceled on the Eighth Day

Pre-departure RT-PCR test requirement, Government of India has removed away with the requirement of COVID-19 test on the 8th day of arrival in India and uploaded the same on Air Suvidha Portal.

Random Sampling of 2% Passengers

2% of the total international passengers on the flight will undergo random arrival test at the airport upon arrival in India.

Such passengers on each flight will be identified by the respective airlines (preferably from different countries). They will collect the samples and they will be allowed out of the airport.

No Mandatory Home Quarantine Required

In a major relaxation, the Indian government has removed the mandatory 7-day home quarantine for international arrivals. Now passengers will only have to self-monitor their health for the next 14 days after arrival.
