Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) introduced the beta version of DigiYatra app on the Android platform. As per reports, the app will make check-in at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 3) easier and much faster.

Digi Yatra app will allow passengers to have paperless and contactless entry at various checkpoints at the airport. The app will use facial features to check the identity of the person who will be linked to the boarding pass.

"DIAL had installed the required facility at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport and already conducted its DigiYatra trials. Nearly 20,000 passengers had the seamless and secured travel experience after using the facility during the trials".

In the coming weeks, the app will also be available on the iOS platform, and passengers will be able to complete their overall biometric registration on the app.

The first phase of the app will be implemented this month in five other airports in Varanasi and Bengaluru as well as in Pune, Vijayawada, Kolkata, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Benefits of using Digi Yatra App?

2) No ID or boarding pass is required at each checkpoint.
3) Very little human involvement.
4) less waiting time
5) The app will map the passenger to the PNR, enhancing the security.
