Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow will not operate any night flight operations for four months. Citing this, airport officials informed that night flights will remain suspended from February 23 to July 11, 2023.

There will be no flight operations during this period between 9:30 pm to 6 am.

During this period, Lucknow airport will undertake expansion and upgradation of its existing runway (airside) to prepare for the future challenges with increase in the number of passenger and cargo flows.

Disclosing more, an airport spokesperson said that during a period of four months, the airport will undertake various construction activities to upgrade the infrastructure at the airside, including new ground lights for aircraft operations, three new links The opening of the taxiway will be included. Sand made runway end safety area and aircraft turn pad expansion.

The airport official said that for the convenience of the passengers, they have already informed the airlines about the unavailability of the runway for 8.5 hours.

The airport has also received environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to increase passenger handling capacity to 39 million tonnes per annum from the current 4.5 million tonnes and cargo handling capacity to 0.25 million tonnes per annum.
