Ministry of Civil Aviation India on Monday extends the restrictions on domestic flights till 31st May 2021, which means the 80 percent cap will remain effective till 11.59 pm on May 31, 2021.

On 19th March, 2021 Aviation Ministry has announced that all domestic airlines will have to limit their capacity to 80 percent of the pre-Covid capacity.

Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted that, there has been a low down in the number of air travellers as some states have imposed restrictions such as compulsory RT-PCR tests due to spike in coronavirus cases in India.

Puri said, "Last few days have seen a decline in the number of air passengers largely due to restrictions and imposition of compulsory RT-PCR test by various states. Due to this, we have decided to retain the permissible limit to 80 percent of the schedule,"

This limit of 80 percent had set by the ministry of civil aviation on December 3, 2020, without telling that till how much time will it remain in place.
