After a sudden hike in cases of novel coronavirus, Kolkata Airport announced that RT-PCR negative report not older then 72 hours is mandatory from the travellers arrivng from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana.

Kolkata Airport tweets, "As per State Govt guidelines passengers coming to #KolkataAirport from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala & Telangana must carry RT PCR negative test report conducted within 72 hours before departure"



The cases are increasing rapidly in Kolkata as registered a record hike of 1,271 coronavirus cases in a single day, then after government takes a decision the make the RT-PCR negative report mandatory for travellers.


On Tuesday, West Bengal reported the highest single-day counts of 4,817 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, that counts total cases to 6,24,224. The death toll also increased to 10,434.
