Eight passengers were injured on Monday on a Mumbai-Kolkata Vistara flight, which experienced a loud turbulence 15 minutes before landing. Our of eight passengers, while five suffered only minor injuries, three were taken to the hospital as they have critically injured.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) stated, "Three passengers after review at airport medical facility were taken to hospital. One passenger has been discharged while other two are under going X-ray diagnostic for any bone related injury,"

The UK775 flight was being operated on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft and carried 113 passengers. It left Mumbai at 13:48 hrs and reached Kolkata at 16:28 hrs.

The DGCA said that one of the passengers, a 61 year old woman, suffered a fracture in her right hand, while another 77 year old suffered a spinal injury. The third passenger, aged 36, suffered a minor cut on his forehead and was released after first aid.

Vistara spokesperson said in a statement, "We are saddened by this unfortunate experience our customers had, and are closely monitoring the health status of those injured. We are investigating the incident on priority, and will share a further update at the earliest,"
