Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is offering free covid-19 vaccinations to tourists. Previously, these vaccines were restricted to UAE citizens and holders of residency visas.

Tourists can book their vaccines as soon as they reach the UAE via Abu Dhabi. According to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, people with a visa issued by Abu Dhabi and holding an eligible passport can book free vaccines.

In fact, holders of expired residency or entry visas can also get free vaccinations, informed the Abu Dhabi Media Office. SEHA is introducing China's state-owned SinoPharm and Pfizer/BioNtech into vaccines in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE saw a surge in infection rates last month, resulting in a ban on entry, quarantine requirements and RT-PCR testing. But now, the country has allowed travellers from 27 countries, including the US, China and Germany, to enter without quarantine on arrival.

This has not been confirmed by the Dubai Media Office. The health authority in Dubai has informed that vaccines are being given only to citizens and holders of valid Dubai residency visas.

According to health officials in the United Arab Emirates, about 85 percent of the country's population has received at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine this month.
