Canada's Minister of Public Safety, Bill Blair confirmed the news and said, Canada is extending the ban on regular international flights until July 21, 2021.

Blair further said that the Canadian government is planning measures for fully vaccinated all Canadians, and others who are currently exempt from restrictions to enter Canada. More information is coming on Monday.

 People falling under the following categories are exempted;

  • Canadian Nationals.
  • Permanent Residents and their family members.
  • Work Permit Holders.
  • Some International Students, and
  • Some Approved Permanent Nationals.
The announcement comes a day after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the premier discussed the possibility of opening up the land border between Canada and the US, which has been closed to non-essential travel since March 2020.

Not only this, some provinces of Canada are closed to each other. Ontario and Quebec this week only opened for non-essential travel between the two provinces. And Atlantic Canada will close in July to Canadians from elsewhere in Canada.
