Here comes a good news for wild life lovers, Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve has opened its gate for travellers. Not only this, the reserve is now open for tourism throughout the year.

Corbett director Rahul informed that the five popular ranges of the reserve, Bijrani, Dhela, Garjia, Dhara-Jhirna and Pakhron are now open for day trips throughout the year.

Located in Uttarakhand, Corbett is famous for its population of tigers. The park was closed to travellers during the second wave of covid-19. Now, with the coronavirus numbers decreasing in the country, all ranges of the park are open for tourism.

Wildlife lovers everywhere are also quite happy with the new development. On the first day of inauguration, the park recorded around 50 bookings for the day safari.

Rahul said, "Opening the reserve for round-the-year tourism will help people whose livelihoods are connected with it. Corbett's revenues have been hit hard by the Covid pandemic and a measure like this will help offset the impact."

Uttarakhand's Forest and Environment Minister Harak Singh Rawat had announced some days before that the Corbett and Rajaji Tiger Reserves would be open for tourists throughout the year. However, wildlife experts do not agree with this decision and believe that it is not good for the animals living in the reserve.
