Almost all the popular tourist places in Kerala may soon be declared as fully vaccinated zones soon. The state government is contemplating to give relief from covid-19 to all those people who are associated with the tourism sector, as they have suffered huge losses due to this epidemic of coronavirus.

The government has put people associated with the tourism sector in the priority list, listed them as frontline covid-19 fighters, and has already started providing them with vaccines against the virus. Recently, Tourism Minister PA Mohammad Riyas announced this.

Announcing this, the Tourism Minister said that the tourism sector has already suffered a loss of INR 33675 crore due to the covid-19 pandemic. Elaborating on this, he said that they are planning to make famous tourist places in the state 100 percent vaccination area by July 15 in collaboration with the health department.

Presenting the budget in the Assembly, Mr Riyas also mentioned that in addition to the existing provision of INR 100 crore, INR 50 crore would be allocated for marketing to the tourism industry.

In addition, to provide assistance to the said sector and address its issues, a rejuvenation package was also announced by the state Finance Minister KN Balagopal, who said INR 30 crore as the government's share for its revival.

Along with this, two new tourism circuits have also been announced in the budget to strengthen the sector; INR 50 crore was allocated for its implementation.
