Monsoon has officially reached Mumbai, as it has caused water-logging in many areas in the city and due to heavy rainfall flights and local trains in Mumbai also affected.

The maximum city started receiving moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms in the early morning.

Many of the local trains is affected resultly they have cancelled and on othe hand many of the flights also cancelled due to the bad weather in Mumbai.

India Meteorogical Department (IMD) Mumbai Deputy Director General Dr Jayanta Sarkar told news agency, "Monsoon has arrived in Mumbai today, normal arrival date is 10th June every year so it has arrived prior to the average arrival date."

The Central Railway PRO said that local train services between Kurla and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus have been suspended as water is flowing on the tracks between Kurla and Sion railway stations.

He added , "Traffic stopped at 9.50 am, decision taken as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident. Traffic will resume as soon as water recedes,"
