The UAE has imposed travel restrictions on India and suspended all flights from India with effect from 24 April 2021 till now due to the huge surge in COVID-19 cases in India.

The suspension was for 10 days, but it keeps on increasing, and recently the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates has issued a NOTAM (Notice To Airmen) saying that flights to India and 13 other countries will continue will be suspended till July 21, 2021.

A lot of updates are coming from different airlines and creating a lot of confusion among the passengers, so to clear the confusion we tried to answer all the frequently asked questions on India-UAE travel.

When flights between India and UAE resume ??

According to the latest update by Emirates and Etihad Airlines, passenger flights to UAE from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will remain suspended till July 31, 2021. However, till now there is no official update from GCAA on the extension of flight suspension.

They are allowed to travel UAE from India;

1. United Arab Emirates citizens and citizens
2. Holders of UAE Golden Visa and Silver Visa.
3. Members of diplomatic missions recognized by both countries.
4. Official representative.
5. Those traveling by business/private aircraft.


UAE travel requirements;

1. Mandatory RT-PCR negative report 48 hours before departure for Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Children under the age of 12 are exempted from the test.

2. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and stamped by the concerned authorized laboratory and shall be in English or Arabic, with the QR code on the original report.

3. Dubai RT-PCR transit is accepted with 72 hours prior departure, further the destination countries rule will apply.

4. Rapid antigen or rapid PCR test at the airport before departure.

5. AED 2000 must be carried otherwise travel may result in deportation or deportation from UAE.

6. The passengers will undergo a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai, followed by two more PCR tests on the fourth day and the eighth day of their quarantine period.

7. Dubai App - The COVID-19 Dubai Smart App Android and iOS versions of the app. To download Sharjah and Abu Dhabi- ALHOSN APP.

8. Travelers for a 10-day home or hotel quarantine commencing on the day of arrival will be required to sign an indemnity document.
