Haryana has decided to extend its lockdown till 5 am on September 06, 2021 due to again rise in cases of novel coronavirus.

Haryana is going with this lockdown, along with some relaxations like opening of bars, malls, restaurants, club houses and shops. It is being called Mahamari Alert– Surakshit Haryana.

Haryana Chief Secretary Vijay Vardhan said, "The Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana is extended for another fortnight, that is from August 23 (5 am onwards) to September 6 (till 5 am) in the state of Haryana along with guidelines to be implemented during this period issued vide earlier orders."

The Government has issued this order for state in exercise of the powers under various provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

State is also reopening its colleges and universities, but what is being called doubt classes, and also practical classes in laboratories, practical exams and offline exams. These exams will be conducted with strict coronavirus protocals.

It has also been informed that other guidelines such as social distancing, seating capacity, sanitization etc. will continue to be followed.

Mahamari Alert-Safe Haryana Lockdown was first imposed on 3rd May 2021. Then it was extended many times till now. This latest continuous lockdown was first ordered from 9 August, and will till now end on 6 September, 2021.
