United Arab Emirates

United Arab Emirates recently announced that it is lifting the COVID-induced travel ban on entry for residents who have been fully vaccinated from 12 September, provided the approved COVID vaccine to the World Health Organization. 

UAE also allowed residents of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Nigeria and Afghanistan to fly into the UAE from September 12. .

From October 1, Dubai will inaugurate the Expo 2020 World Fair after a one-year delay due to the COVID-19 global health crisis. The month-long event is expected to gain huge traction.

Kenya

The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) had announced the reopening of its borders for travelers arriving from India on tourist visas. In early May this year, Kenya reported Covid-19. had closed its borders due to the deadly second wave of Covid-19.

However, now the temporary ban of passenger flights from India has been canceled after a brief suspension, KTB said in a statement. The good news is that Indian travelers are exempted from quarantine, provided they produce a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test result 96 hours prior to travel, the statement said.

Mauritius

Mauritius has opened its borders to international travelers in a phased manner from 15 July. In the first phase, that is, from July 15 to September 30, this vaccination will enable travelers to enjoy a resort holiday on the island.

Holidaymakers will be able to enjoy amenities at their chosen resort complex, including a swimming pool and beach.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has allowed entry of passengers from all places. Fully vaccinated international travelers from India can move freely around the island nation after being tested on arrival as the country reopens India's borders after a long-anticipated wait.

Only fully vaccinated travelers who have completed the recommended vaccine dose will be considered (after 2 weeks from their last vaccination), with no minimum stay requirement.

Turkey

Turkey is now allowing entry to international travelers. However, you will have to compulsorily undergo a 14-day institutional quarantine. A test will be done on the 14th day of arrival, and only if you test negative will you be allowed to leave the quarantine facility.

Russia

Even though you can now travel from India to Russia, travelers will have to go through a cumbersome process. To enter Russia, according to reports, you will have to obtain an invitation from a government-mandated tourism agency and remember that merely providing hotel reservations will not suffice.

In addition, you can apply for a tourist visa that is valid for 30 days for single entry or double entry.

Passengers will have to produce RT-PCR test done within 72 hours from arrival and also undergo on-the-spot test on arrival. Only if you are found negative will you be allowed to enter the country and the person who tests positive will be shifted to a COVID treatment facility. Currently there are only a few flights from India to Russia, so ticket prices are at least two and a half times higher than regular airfares.

Egypt

In Egypt, passengers arriving from countries, including India, where the delta COVID-19 variant has appeared, will have to undergo a rapid test on arrival.

Travelers on arrival from a country with any COVID-19 strain will be required to undergo a 15-minute DNA test called ID Now to enter the country.

Earlier Egypt announced that visitors would no longer have to produce any negative COVID-19 test reports to enter the country. The announcement was made on fears that tourists would cancel their plans. However recently, the cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Egypt and the government has decided to strict and test people coming from countries with COVID-19 type at the time of arrival.

Iceland

Iceland has also opened its borders to travelers from India. However, travelers are required to be fully immunized with EU-approved vaccinations, including Covishield by AstraZeneca.

On arrival you will also need to present a valid vaccination certificate and a negative PCR test. Notably, the Icelandic authorities will also require you to undergo a screening test for COVID-19 at the border and you will be exempted from quarantine if the test is negative.

Uzbekistan

An Indian national holding a valid visa for CIS countries (except Russia) is eligible to travel to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan is providing e-visa facility to travelers from India at minimal charges and they will have to submit a negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival in the country. Much to the relief of travelers, there is no quarantine and hence, one can explore the Central Asian country to their heart's content.

United Kingdom

The UK was earlier not allowing Indian travelers to enter its borders, saying that Kovidshield is not a valid vaccine under the government's travel policy. However, the Covishield is essentially the Astra Zeneca being developed by Oxford and manufactured by SII in India.

London has included the vaccine in its updated international travel advisory, following strong criticism from India for refusing to recognize the UK's Covidshield. Since the country has a problem with COWIN certification, travelers from India will have to undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine.

Italy

Italy has also recognized the COVID-19 vaccine Covishield of Serum Institute of India. Now, fully vaccinated Indian tourists can travel to the European nation and are also eligible for a Green Pass, the Indian Embassy in Italy said.
