Here is a positive news for UK travellers from India, Indians who have been fully vaccinated with Covishield or any other UK-approved vaccine travelling to the UK will not have to undergo quarantine from Monday.

New Guidelines For Indian Travellers From Today

Earlier, the UK Travel Advisory made a 10-day quarantine mandatory for Indian travellers, including those receiving both doses of Covishield, manufactured by Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune.

If you are fully vaccinated, before your departure, you will need to book and pay for 2 COVID-19 tests for a day which is to be taken after you arrive in the UK. Passengers will also need to fill out a Passenger Locator Form 48 hours prior to their arrival in England.

Note that you will be considered fully vaccinated if you have received your second dose of vaccine at least 14 days before arriving in England. Government advice states that the day you took your last dose does not count as one of 14 days.

The UK government has accepted the vaccine certificate from Covishield and India. India will be added to this list of countries and territories with accepted proof of vaccination, on Monday 11 October at 4 am. If you arrive in England before that date, you must follow the rules for people who have not been fully vaccinated.
