Recently, 125 people have been found infected in an international chartered flight from Italy at Amritsar International Airport in Punjab. It is being told that 170 people were aboard in it. All the people have been quarantined in Amritsar.

At least 10 passengers have fled an airport in the north Indian city of Amritsar after testing positive for Covid-19, according to Roohi Dugg, a senior district official.

Passengers were tested for coronavirus, as per India's Covid-19 entry rules, after their arrival from Rome on Thursday morning.

Amritsar airport director VK Seth told that 160 passengers were tested, while 19 were exempted because they were under five years of age.

Passengers who tested positive were taken to a local hospital on Thursday, while 10 passengers separated from the main group and able to escape the authorities.

After searching, police have arrested the all absconding people.

Police official stated that, "They were supposed to go to the hospital but they went home... The police are now working on tracking these people down and will take the required action,"

Further added, "There were a large number of passengers. All of them said that they will come to the hospital, and most of them did, but some were able to get out,"
