Maharashtra is the worst-hit state in the country due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, recently has decided to impose night curfew between 11 pm and 5 am from Monday.

The state is witnessing yet another sudden spike in the number of daily new Covid-19 cases and many experts have termed it as the start of the third wave.

As per the new guidelines issued by Maharashtra from January 10, only those who have completed double vaccination or the mandatory negative RT-PCR test report is not older than 72 hours will be allowed to enter the state, otherwise traveller is not being allowed to enter in the state of Maharashtra.

Statement says, "This shall apply to air, train as well as on-road passengers. This will apply for drivers, cleaners and other support staff that may be travelling,"

Local trains will operate as usual, as will all public transport but only fully vaccinated people will be allowed.

Hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, auditoriums will operate at 50 percent seating capacity till 10 pm. Hair cutting salons and malls will operate at 50 per cent capacity.

Maximum 50 persons are allowed in marriages, 20 in funerals and last rites, 50 persons in social, religious, cultural, political gatherings.

Movement of people in groups of five or more has been restricted from 5 am to 11 pm and no movement is allowed from 11 pm to 5 am except for essential services.

Swimming pools, gyms, spas, beauty salons, zoos, museums and amusement parks will remain closed until further orders.
