Ladakh has canceled the entry of all tourists due to the concern of rising omicron cases in the country. The newer COVID-19 variant, although less deadly, is highly contagious. Therefore the government of Ladakh does not want to take any risk in this respect.

Chadar Trek is a adventure activity undertaken by adventurers. A 105 km taxing trek takes trekkers to the frozen Zanskar River. Another popular activity that has been cancelled this year is snow leopard sightings. The activity was started to promote tourism in Roopshu Valley in Leh.

And even with Ladakh many of the states have announced restrictions because of the ongoing Omicron virus, all flights have been stopped in West Bengal, night curfew has been imposed, schools, salons, spa restaurants, all have been completely closed to prevent citizens from the deadly virus.

Right now the omicron virus is slowly making its home in India too, due to which 1200-1300 cases are being received daily.
