Aeroflot, the Russian Federation's largest airline, announced that it has decided to cancel all flights to Europe from Monday, 28 February 2022.

Meanwhile Norwegian Cruise Lines have either canceled or changed their scheduled sailings, including stops in Russia and Ukraine due to the ongoing war.

The United Kingdom banned Aeroflot from operating in and outside the United Kingdom. In addition, airlines using UK airspace are also banned.

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority said the country has banned flights from Aeroflot by suspending its foreign carrier permits. CAA further added, "This means that Aeroflot will not be permitted to operate flights to or from the United Kingdom until further notice."

After several countries decided to restrict their airspace in protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Aeroflot has decided to suspend all flights until further notice.

On Sunday, European nations and Canada took extraordinary steps to close their airspace to Russian planes in an effort to pressure President Vladimir Putin to halt his invasion of Ukraine, a European state since World War II is the biggest attack.

European Union foreign policy leader, Josep Borrell, has decided to limit its airspace to Russian traffic.
