Himachal News; Leh-Manali Highway Closed Due To Heavy Snowfall

Here is a big news for snow lovers who wish to visit Himachal Pradesh recently. Fresh snowfall has recently disrupted traffic movement in the entire Lahaul and Spiti district. These areas have been receiving heavy snowfall since Wednesday, due to which the roads connected to the district have been blocked.

Due to heavy snowfall near Atal tunnel, the Manali-Leh highway from Solang Valley towards Lahaul via Atal tunnel was closed. Reports suggest that the road leading to Spiti Valley from Manali side was blocked due to heavy snowfall at Kunzum Pass on this highway.

Traffic came to a standstill in the entire district due to heavy snowfall in the region. Also, all the internal road links of the district have also been blocked for traffic by the local authorities for safety reason.

The district administration issued an advisory and suggested people to avoid unnecessary trips to Lahaul and Spiti valleys in the recent past.

The Border Roads Organization is working tirelessly on the Manali-Leh highway through the Atal Tunnel to ensure road connectivity between Manali and Lahaul.
