UAE has finally removed all COVID-related entry requirements and precautionary measures for international travelers. This follows the country's decision to lift all restrictions related to COVID-19 with effect from 6 am on Monday, November 7, 2022.

The UAE finally joins over 120 countries that have lifted travel restrictions and returned to normal travel.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced the updated rules on Sunday during a special media briefing on COVID-19 updates.

NCEMA announced the second phase of restrictions after studying the country's epidemiological situation and monitoring the rate of stay in hospitals and intensive care units for COVID-19 cases.

Removed all restrictions related to COVID-19

NCEMA in a social media post said, “Today, we announce the second phase of the easing of restrictions, after studying the epidemiological situation in the country while monitoring occupancy rates in hospitals and intensive care for COVID-19 cases.”

Al Hosn App

  1. Green Pass is not required to enter public facilities and sites.
  2. Use of the Al Hosn app will be limited to proof of vaccination and test results in and out of the country upon request.

Wearing a Mask

  1. Wearing of masks will be optional in all open and closed facilities.
  2. Masks are mandatory in health facilities and centers for people with determination.

COVID-19 Facilities

  1. COVID-19 PCR testing and treatment Health facilities will continue as normal.

Sporting Events and Activities

  1. Depending on the type or importance of the activity, organizing bodies at the national and local levels may request pre-exams, or vaccination certificates.
However, prior to this recent change, the UAE maintained strict entry requirements and internal restrictions that kept many visitors away for the past two and a half years.

Travelers were required to comply with a number of restrictions to enter the country. However, all these rules have been repealed till November 7.
