Thailand's capital said in a statement on Monday that Bangkok would relax restrictions on places such as massage shops, clinics and parks implemented to prevent the spread of covid-19, but schools, theaters, gyms and zoos would remain closed till further announcement.

Meanwhile schools, cinemas, gyms and zoos will remain closed, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said it is easing covid-19 restrictions in places such as massage shops, clinics and parks where there were no groups of coronovirus infections.


Thailand has been battling its deadliest coronavirus outbreak since April, 2021. It counted 5,485 new cases on Monday, of which 1,356 were in Bangkok.

Thailand also reported 19 new deaths on Monday, killing 1,031 people since the outbreak began. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said it was loosening restrictions in places where there was no group of transitions "to ease the difficulties of the business sector and allow people to go to their jobs with stict protocals".
