Govt of India body, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) India in a circular on Friday extended the suspension of scheduled international flights to/from India till August 31, 2021.

DGCA further stated in the circular that the restrictions would not apply to international cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA, Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubbles.

DGCA issued a circular, "In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of the circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of 31st Aug 2021. This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA."

Due to the huge increase in coronavirus cases in India, several countries had announced travel restrictions/flight suspension/travel restrictions of passengers from India. So far more than 28 countries have suspended flights or banned Indian passengers.
