Abu Dhabi's Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee on Saturday updates travel procedures for UAE citizens and residents, as well as visitors entering Abu Dhabi from abroad, effective Sunday August 15, 2021.

Previously, Abu Dhabi has only allowed citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates, and who are eligible for a visa, to enter the country, but now from green-listed and non-green-listed destinations with and without vaccinations. Vaccinated visitors can travel to Abu Dhabi.

In addition, the country has also reduced the quarantine period for unvaccinated travellers.

Updated Guidelines For Abu Dhabi

1. All non-vaccinated citizens, residents and visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi from Green Listed destinations without the need for quarantine will have to undergo a PCR test on arrival, and a PCR test on days 6 and 9.

2. While non-vaccinated citizens, residents and visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi from other destinations will have to undergo a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for 10 days and another PCR test on the 9th day.

3. Vaccinated passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi from green-listed destinations will be required to undergo a PCR test on arrival without the need for quarantine, and undergo a PCR test on the 6th day.

4. On arrival from other destinations, they will have to undergo PCR test on arrival, quarantine for seven days and PCR test on day 6.

5. It is important to note that the protocol fully applies to UAE citizens and residents as well as visitors as documented on the Alhosan App.
