Passengers can now get their Rapid RT-PCR test done at Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport (IGI) in less than One hour.

The results of the Rapid RT-PCR test report will come in about 45-60 minutes. This will make it easier for the passengers to take the exam if needed.

While the facility for RT-PCR tests was already available at the airport, they usually had to wait around 3-4 hours for their test reports. The new rapid RT-PCR test will cost Rs 5000 for each test.

The airport expressed that the new facility and rapid PCR machines have been installed at the airport in response to the guidelines issued by the United Arab Emitares.

The UAE has made it mandatory for travellers to carry their test reports and present them on arrival.

It is expected that soon more machines will be installed at the airport for this facility. The move is also expected to ease travel as the airport is witnessing increase in passenger traffic and decline in coronavirus cases.
