In the wake of  highly contagious Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus, IndiGo announced that it will reduce capacity deployment by 20% as demand declines.

Indigo said in a statement that the cancellation of flights will be done at least 72 hours before departure.

“We anticipate that around 20 percent of our current scheduled operations will be withdrawn from service.”

"Where possible, cancellations of flights will be done at least 72 hours in advance and customers will be moved to the next available flight and will also be able to change their travel through the use of Plan B on our website."

The decision to curtail scheduled flight operations comes after a sudden drop in domestic air traffic due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 cases across the country. Significantly, in the last two weeks, the number of domestic passengers in India has declined by 39%.

The airline also advised its passengers to use digital platforms like social media and official websites for their queries.

travoinfo.com strictly advised you to check your flights status before packing your bags.

“Since our call center is currently handling a large volume of calls, we are encouraging our customers to use our digital channels where possible.”
