To boom the tourism sector of country, Philippines has announced the opening of the country to fully vaccinated travelers from February 10, 2022. 

The Philippines planned to reopen in December, however plans were failed due to the Omicron version. The nation has now said that travelers from around 150 countries with visa-free entry into the Philippines will be allowed to enter for tourism purposes. But China, Taiwan and India have not been included in the list.

While on this reopening Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said, "This will contribute significantly to job restoration, primarily in tourism-dependent communities, and in the reopening of businesses that have earlier shut down"

Meanwhile the quarantine requirements for the Philippines will also be lifted from February 1 and for foreign tourists from February 10. But all of them must be vaccinated and also test negative for COVID-19.

Tourist arrivals in the Philippines from Japan, South Korea and China dropped by 83 percent last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles said, "The tourism industry can now recover and it can contribute big to jobs, livelihoods and the country's economic growth,".
