Chandauli National Park and Radhanagari-Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary are now closed for visitors due to the onset of monsoon.

The arrival of monsoon was delayed this year, the closure of sanctuaries was also delayed by two weeks. Referring to this, the Forest Range Officer of Chandauli National Park said that now that the monsoon has arrived, it has been decided to close the Chandauli dam as well, while the safari in Chandauli National Park will stop from June 15.

Rains have started in Chandauli area and during this time the possibility of natural calamity cannot be ruled out. Keeping this in mind, tourist activities are stopped here every year on the arrival of monsoon. If all goes well, the park will reopen for tourists from October 15.

The Radhanagari-Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary has also been closed for tourists as the monsoon approaches. The place is famous for Gaur sightings, and will reopen for tourists on November 1.

A wildlife safari tour operator in the Radhanagari-Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary said that since the monsoon season is the breeding season for animals, it is also the time when snakes come out on the roads, posing a threat to humans Is. As such, wildlife sanctuaries are kept closed during this time so as not to disturb wildlife activities.

Also off-road tracks in forest areas become muddy, as a result of which the jungle safari vehicles get stuck.
